Samyang XP 14mm f2.4 Review | Dubai, UAE

Samyang is one of the lens manufacturers that offers affordable lenses with top notch quality.   I have personally owned 3 Samyang lenses and I never regret it, in fact I recommend them.  So far, they have never let me down.  The Samyang 14mm is an ultra wide angle lens, if you haven’t tried an such focal length, it can be overwhelming to use.  This super wide angle can easily introduce distortions, but once you get the hang of it, you […]

Samyang 24mm f3.5 Tilt-Shift Lens for Fujifilm X-Series Review, Dubai, UAE.

Fujifilm X-Series came a long way. Gone are the days of limited options for lenses. Fujifilm have produced excellent selections of lenses, which I feel made the X-Series successful as it is now. However, they still have a few “niche” lenses that haven’t made into production yet, until now. Samyang recently made a tilt shift lens for Fujifilm X-Mount, 24mm f3.5 ED AS UMC. I would like to thank BHMstore for letting me test this lens. Tilt-shift lenses have been […]

Sony RX100 V Review – Dubai, UAE.

Have you been asked a question many times and you gave a different answer all the time?  As soon as my alarm clock (which is also my phone btw) buzzes with that annoying tone, the first thing I do is check my messages.  Instagram, Facebook, E-mail, whatsapp and so on.  Out of all the messages I get, I get this question a lot:  “What is a good everyday camera you can recommend which is better than my phone?” or something […]

Dubai hot air balloons

I took this photo of Dubai with hot air balloons few days ago during the Dubai World Air Games 2015.  I am lucky that my balcony is facing this view.  This was taken from my balcony.  To be honest, I don’t see this kind of view every day, because Dubai can be really hazy.  However there are a few occasions that I see the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Skylines really clear.  I have to zoom at 200mm (x 1.5 […]

Cloudy Dubai!

Yesterday was one of the best Dubai skies I’ve seen.  There are massive clouds and surprisingly clear too, not so much haze.  Dubai is not really known for cloudy skies but as we enter the cold season, we are getting our fair shares of clouds. I took this photo from my balcony at around 7:30 to 7:45pm.  From there, I can see the Dubai skylines and Burj Khalifa standing out of that crowd. Gear used: Nikon D810 + 85mm f1.4 […]

My Jeep Wrangler in Dubai, UAE

Feb 16, 2015, I sold my 2013 BMW X5 x35i and got this… A Jeep?!? Let me backtrack, before I purchased the X5, I was driving a 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser for 4 years.  I loved the FJ Cruiser, its a no-nonsense car that can go anywhere and I loved it; helped a lot with a lot of photography projects and shoots.  Since it doesn’t have a lot of “luxury” features, I guess, you always crave the thing you don’t […]
