Michael R. Cruz Dubai Photographer. Cloudy Dubai

Cloudy Dubai!

Yesterday was one of the best Dubai skies I’ve seen.  There are massive clouds and surprisingly clear too, not so much haze.  Dubai is not really known for cloudy skies but as we enter the cold season, we are getting our fair shares of clouds. I took this photo from my balcony at around 7:30 to 7:45pm.  From there, I can see the Dubai skylines and Burj Khalifa standing out of that crowd. Gear used: Nikon D810 + 85mm f1.4 […]

365 Project : Day 314

Going back to my roots now, Cityscapes/Landscapes.  It’s that time of the year where the weather is getting cold and the sky is clearing up giving a rich blue tone.  This was taken early morning at the Downtown Burj Dubai.  Getting a nice old and new architecture at this vantage point. Gear: Canon 7D + 8-16mm Settings: f8 | 8 secs| ISO 100 ( DRI / Digital Blending of 3 exposures) Post processing: 3 exposures DRI Curves adjustments

365 Project: Day 266

A little break from portraits 🙂  Back to my first love, landscapes / cityscapes.  I really find lanscapes so fun to do, portraits are fun too but landscape or cityscape is more relaxing.  Summer is back back in Dubai and I’m surprised that the cold season went this long. Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 8-16mm Settings: f11 | 3.2 secs. | ISO 100 Post process: 3 Exposure blending using DRI Dodging and burning Curves adjustments Color Enhancements Cheers! /Mike

365 Project : Day 241

Took this shot on the way back to the parking lot. I just saw this traffic lights and I thought that it would be a good foreground with the Burj Khalifa. 365 Project : Day 240

This is one of my favorite shots among all the photos I took recently.  Timing is really a big key when taking photos like this.  You cannot really predict when is the best time to take a picture, you just go there and pray for the best.  This was shot at dawn, just before the sun rises. It’s really challenging to take a picture of the Burj Khalifa, simply because it’s very tall.  I mean, it’s not the tallest building […]

365 Project : Day 178

The Burj Khalifa, known to be Burj Dubai for years.  This time I tried muting the colors in attempt to make my subject stand out better. This is also my attempt to make a vertical panorama, some calls it vertorama. Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20mm Settings: f8.0 | 1/320 | ISO 100 Post process: Photomerged in Photoshop using 5 photos of vertical-panoramic shots (hand held) Tried correcting the perspective to straighten the Burj Khalifa (aka Burj Dubai) Used the […]
