Another one from Jazirat Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaima, UAE.  This is an abandoned village, also referred to as “ghost town”, according to locals there, it was an old fisherman’s village.

I really have no idea whatsoever on what this room was before they abandoned the place.  All I know is that, those 3 windows caught my attention.

Here’s how I took it:

Settings: f8 | 3 bracketed shots 2EV +/- @ 20mm

Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20mm

Post processing:

  • Aligned and tone mapped from Photomatix
  • Cleaned and added texture in Photoshop  CS4

Thanks for dropping by.

  1. to me it looks like the room was the washing (ablutions) room in a mosque before – the tile, those things beneath the window…

    nice shot

    • Thanks!

It could be ablutions, thanks for pointing that out. I really have no clue what this place was, but you might be correct. Thanks again!

    • Jay,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I am using srgb 2.1 color profile in photoshop (as a standard) but I am not using any nature tone or any specific tone for that matter.

      Happy new year too!

      /Mike
