365 Project : Day 140

I wish I could tell you what’s up with these two but… I really don’t know.   All I can tell is that, they look Korean, that’s it.   Anyway,  I think this couple adds the story in this picture. 365 Project : Day 139

I have a lot of sunset shots, but this is not one of them.  This was taken at sunrise, during the golden hour;  it doesn’t really last an hour, it lasted probably around 10 minutes. Gear:  Canon 7 D + Sigma 10-20mm Settings: f8.0 | 1/160 | ISO 100 Post process: Digital blending of 2 exposures (DRI) A little bit of dodging and burning Weekend tomorrow, woooh! /Mike

365 Project : Day 138

Here’s another shot from a different angle of the newest mall in Dubai, Mirdif City Center.  I saw this lady with her 2 kids posing so I took the shot as well, this is one of my test shots that turned out well 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 f2.8 Settings: 7.1 | 1/500 | ISO 100 Post process: Stacked and merged in Photoshop CS5 Tonemapped in Photomatix Cleaned in Photoshop CS5 Dodging and burning Colorized the sky to […]

Found this group of birds hanging out at the lake, took this one using my Tamron 18-270mm VC at 270mm.   Somehow these birds looks like they are watching the sunset 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Tamron 18-270mm VC Settings: f8.0 | 1/500 | ISO 125 Post process: Applied some “cross-processing” look using photoshop channel mixer and color balance Adjusted curves Applied vignette Take care y’all! /Mike

365 Project : Day 136

This was taken at Golden Tulip Hotel.  Like my previous post, I was not feeling well last night so I am posting 2 pictures today. Gear: Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 f2.8 Settings: f2.8 | 1/800 | ISO 100 Post processing: Enhanced the sky to give the clouds more drama Dodging and burning Adjusted hue and saturation Vignette Cheers! /Mike

365 Project : Day 135

I was not feeling well last night so I have to post this only today.  Anyway, the good thing about these ants is that, they don’t move so quickly and they stop every now and then, giving me opportunity to take a decent shot 🙂 Gear:  Canon 7D + Tamron 90mm f2.8 Settings: f3.5 | 1/125 | ISO 250 Post processing: Adjusted contrast Dodging and burning Applied a square crop and added vignette Cheers! /Mike

365 Project : Day 134

Taken from Ras Al Khaimah, this looks to be an old butcher house.  The place is quite smelly so I had to shoot as fast as I can without breathing…  the joy of photography 🙂 Gear:  Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20mm Settings: f9.0 | 1/15 | ISO 200 Post process: Blended 2 exposures using DRI technique Dodging and burning Adjusted hue and saturation Added vignette Have a nice weekend 🙂 /Mike

365 Project : Day 133

Taken from Dubai Internet City.  There’s a lot more to this place, I just need to find more time and go to some other areas.  Anyway, this will do for now 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 f2.8 Settings: f5.0 | 1/20 | ISO 125 Post process: Blended 3 exposures manually (DRI) Dodging and burning Adjusted hue and saturation Added vignette Wohooo! It’s weekend! /Mike

365 Project : Day 132

Trying out textures again with one of my favorite places to shoot, the abandoned village in Ras Al Khaimah. Gear:  Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20mm Settings: f8.0 | 1/15 | ISO 100 Post process: Combined 3 exposures (DRI) Dodging and burning Applied some perspective correction and crop the image Applied the rough texture Applied the broken texture Applied sharpening What d’ya know, weekend is coming! /Mike

365 Project : Day 131

This is how the Madinat Jumeirah Souk looks like at night.   Lots of people hanging out, walking around and just relaxing.  Didn’t have any tripod so I have to hand hold the camera  with a high ISO, but the big aperture of the Tokina (f2.8) really helps and even at f2.8, this lens is sharp 🙂 Gear:  Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 f2.8 Settings: f2.8 | 0.5 | ISO 1,000 Post processing: Combined 3 exposures manually using digital blending (DRI) […]
