365 Project : Day 160

I have to admit that this was a test shot, I was trying to check if my sensor has dust on it… Forgot that I was using a fisheye =) Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8 Settings: f22 | 1/50 | ISO 100 Post process: Adjusted some curves settings TGIF! /Mike

365 Project : Day 159

This is pretty much what I carry everyday.  I got this new crumpler bag named: “Little Stevie” to carry my iPad 3G+Wifi 64G, Lumix LX3, my Canon 7D with a wide angle lens (either Tokina 11-16 f2.8 or my fisheye 10mm f2.8), 50mm f1.8, cleaning cloth, blower, card reader, extra battery, extra CF cards and a LED flash light. I am starting to see the benefits of iPad in terms of photography; I think as soon as the Operating System […]

365 Project : Day 158

When the iPad came out, I wasn’t planning on getting one, because my first impression was… it’s just a big iPhone 😀  That was until I tried one,  hold it with my hands and browse with it… Day after that, I ordered it from Ebay =) Steve Jobs said that the iPad is a 3rd category device, it sits in between a smart phone and a laptop.  I didn’t get that until I started using the iPad and as day […]

365 Project : Day 157

There is something about this place…  Makes me think how it was before.  I can’t find any documented article about this abandoned place in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, as to how it was before, anyway, this is how it looks today. Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20mm Settings: f9.0 | 1/15 | ISO 100 Post process: Combined 3 exposures (DRI’d) Dodging and burning Selective curves adjustments Added Vibrance and a light vignette See yah! /Mike

365 Project : Day 154

Taken from Jumeriah beach during noon time.  Weather is becoming unbearable during day time, I guess I have to go back to strobist mode 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 f2.8 Settings: f14.0 | 1/250 | ISO 100 Post process: Adjusted Contrast using curves and that’s about it Cheers! /Mike

365 Project : Day 153

This hotel has been photographed so many times.  Everyone who went to Dubai will sure have a picture of the Burj Al Arab.  I wanted it to have a more surreal look, thus post processed accordingly. Gear: Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 f2.8 Settings: f8.0 | 1/25 | ISO 320 Post process: DRI’d from 3 exposures Adjusted color channels to have a bleached look Adjusted contrast via curves I can smell weekend!!! /Mike

365 Project : Day 152

Al Hamra Fort in Ras Al Khaimah is really a good place to chill.  The place is rather old compare to the new beach resorts in RAK, but I guess it has its own charms… Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8 Settings: f4.5 | 1/25 | ISO 100 Post process: DRI from 3 exposures Dodging and burning Applied curves settings to adjust contrast Cheers! /Mike

365 Project : Day 151

Taken during sunset at Al Hamra Fort.  It’s getting harder and harder to shoot recently.  Everytime I take the camera out, it fogs really quickly and not only its going to ruin your shot, but also the camera and lens as well.  But, what can I do, I can’t stop humidity and wait till the sunset is over 🙁  Anyway, just sharing. Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8 Settings: f8.0 | 1/25 | ISO 100 Post process: Digital blending […]
