365 Project : Day 228

Taken from Boracay; This is Crystal Cove Island, really nice place to chill and photograph. I really miss this place now… This is the first DRI that I did using my Wacom Intuos 4, it is surprisingly very accurate compared to the previous one I’m using. It took me some time to go into details, but I think its worth it. Gear: Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 f2.8 Settings: f7.1 | 1/25 | ISO 100 Post process: Exposure Blending using […]

365 Project : Day 226

As I said on my previous post, finding interesting angles is not easy; You really need to work it, you need to go around your subject and work your shot. It’s hard but its a lot of fun and that’s what matters I guess 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 17-50 f2.8 OS HSM Settings: f2.8 | I/100 | ISO 100 Strobist: 580exii + umbrella @ 1/16 power on camera left gold reflector on the left to fill in some […]

365 Project : Day 225

Finding an interesting shot in portraiture is quite different compared to landscapes. The thought process is different when composing; I myself find portraits more challenging because you need to capture a specific look which can happen at any moment, compared to landscapes in which you have more time to compose and get that perfect shot we want. But, both are very rewarding once the image in your camera matches the image you have in your mind. Gear: Canon 7D + […]

365 Project : Day 224

This particular shot was one of the first shots taken during our shoot. I wanted a simple / clean look. The lighting setup was pretty simple, one flash with umbrella and a silver reflector. If you are in Dubai and would like me to arrange a similar workshop for you, please get it touch with me here Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 OS HSM Settings: f2.8 | 1/250 | ISO 100 Strobist: 580exii + umbrella @ 1/32 power […]

365 Project : Day 223

Me and my friend went for a fun shoot yesterday and I did a small one-on-one workshop (for details regarding my workshops click here) regarding portraits and lighting.  Our model’s name is Katya, who’s really nice & kind throughout the shoot. It was a small setup. We only used one light (580exii) and a reflector for the entire shoot. I actually planned for a 3 light setup but because of the space constraints I decided to use only one light. […]

365 Project : Day 222

This was shot at Ras Al Khaimah, ghost town. This abandoned village is quite big and you have to make sure you know your way out once it gets dark, because its pitch black in there. Most of the locals are afraid of this place, however I haven’t seen or felt anything supernatural about the place. Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20mm Settings: 2 exposures, one for the tower and the other for the sky. Post process: 2 exposures manually […]

365 Project : Day 221

I know there are some obvious distortions here but I somehow liked it 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10-20mm Settings: f9.0 | 1/250 | ISO 100 Post process: 3 exposures DRI’d Curves adjustments Hue and saturation adjustments Cheers! /Mike
