365 Project : Day 254

This portrait was taken in a very unlikely place, anyway… those three holes are broken windows which nicely frames the surroundings of the place. This place offers a lot of grungy textures. This was shot in one of the abandoned villa in Ras Al Khaimah. It was a fun shoot and I would like to thank our model, Alexandra Lyubimaya, who’s very fun to work with. She’s our model, our stylist and make up artist! Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma […]

365 Project : Day 252

Shot at Ras Al Khaimah inside the abandoned village. Light and shadows always work hand in hand in any photograph… That’s the first thing to look for in my opinion when taking a photograph, then adding lines and textures would be the second. Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 8-16mm Settings: f10 | 1/50 | ISO 100 Post Process: 3 exposure blending (DRI) Curves adjustments Dodging and burning Color balance adjustment Cheers! /Mike

365 Project : Day 250

This was taken at the Abandoned Village in Ras Al Khaimah in the morning. The clouds were thick and looks like there’s a storm coming, although the only storm we get here is sand storms (at least in Dubai). I edited this picture with the intent that I wanted it to look like it was a setting from a video game, hence the 3d look 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 8-16mm Settings: f8.0 | 1/15 | ISO 100 Post […]

365 Project : Day 248

365 Project : Day 247

Location like these are probably the last place anyone would like to take pictures of, but for photographers… it’s like paradise 🙂  Or maybe it’s just me… Anyway, this place is always fun to shoot, quiet and peaceful. 365 Project : Day 246

Me and my photo buddies Eugene and Henry went to the Abandoned Village in Ras Al Khaimah. If you are following my blog or flickr, you will know that I have been to this place several times already, the only difference this time is that this was shot during sunrise. Using my ND1000x BW filter to get some motion with the clouds. Gear: Canon 7D + Tokina 11-16 + BW ND1000x (ND110) Settings: f11 | 30 secs. | ISO 400 […]

365 Project : Day 245

Taken at Madinat Jumeirah after our early shoot at the beach with the Burj Al Arab. I haven’t used my fisheye lens in a while so I decided to get some fun with it 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8 Settings: f8.0 | 1/50 | ISO 100 Post process: 2 exposures blended (DRI) Curves adjustments Dodging and burning Cheers! /Mike

365 Project : Day 244

Another early wake up shoot, this time at the Burj Al Arab. This is the most famous landmark in Dubai until the Burj Khalifa came along. This seven star hotel is still an architecture marvel 🙂 Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 8-16mm Settings: f8.0 | 30 secs. | ISO 100 Post process: 3 exposures (DRI) Enhanced the sky to get a more dramatic look using blending modes Curves adjustments Dodging and burning Cheers! /Mike

Gear: Sony Alpha NEX-5 + 16mm f2.8 Settings: f4.5 | 1/30 | ISO 400 | HDR Mode Post processing: Curves adjustments Dodge & Burn Cheers! /Mike
